The following are minimum qualification descriptions for positions that Webster Electric routinely employs. Webster Electric wishes to invite all qualified applicants who wish to be considered for any of these positions to:

Openings for employment are usually advertised by some means and may be listed in one or more of the following: local newspapers, with the Mississippi Employment Security Division, applicable trade publications, via our website and online. The application process however is open ended and we accept applications and resumes for these positions on an ongoing basis and use those applications and resumes received to consider applicants for employment.

As a condition of employment all applicants agree to submit or document, if requested, any or all of the following:

  • Certified copies of all educational records to include:
    • High School or College diploma
    • High School or College transcripts

  • Project Manager

    Project Manager

    • Bachelor of Science Degree from Accredited University in a field relating to Construction Management, Construction Sciences, Engineering, or other related degrees may be submitted.

      • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better

      • Must have documentable and strong math background with 3.0 or better grades in math classes

    • Must have 5 years of documentable experience in Construction Related Project Management. (Does not necessarily have to be electrical related, but must be construction related)

    • Would prefer to have at least some experience in the Commercial/Industrial Electrical Construction field.

    • Applicant must be familiar with and able to effectively use Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Power Point as a minimum).

    • Preference will be given to applicants who have used or can demonstrate proficiency in the following software/programs:

      • Estimation (formally by Maxwell Systems, now Viewpoint Construction Software)

      • Viewpoint Accounting or Project Management Software

      • AutoCAD

      • Scheduling Software to include a proficiency with:

        • Microsoft Scheduling

        • Primavera Project Planner

    • Must live in (or be willing to relocate to) the Meridian, MS area. Applicant must live within 1 hour driving time to Meridian,

    Assistant Project Manager

    • Bachelor of Science Degree from Accredited University in a field relating to Construction Management, Construction Sciences, Engineering, or other related degrees may be submitted.

      • Cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or better

      • Must have documentable and strong math background with 3.0 or better grades in math classes

    • Must have 1-2 years of documentable work experience. The work experience does not have to be in construction or in project management, but should be a solid reference for documenting work history, performance and ability to learn and perform at acceptable levels.

    • Would prefer to have some exposure to the construction industry and would prefer any exposure to the electrical industry.

    • Applicant must be familiar with and able to effectively use Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Power Point as a minimum).

    • Preference will be given to applicants who have used or can demonstrate proficiency in the following software/programs:

      • Estimation (formally by Maxwell Systems, now Viewpoint Construction Software)

      • Viewpoint Accounting or Project Management Software

      • AutoCAD or REVIT

      • Cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or better

      • Must have documentable and strong math background with 3.0 or better grades in math classes

    • Must be able to demonstrate experience through one (minimum) or more (two preferred) of the following:

      • 2 years electrical estimating experience

      • 3 years of construction estimating experience in a field other than electrical

      • 5 years of minimum construction experience in the electrical field with a minimum of 3 of those years as a supervisor of on-site electrical projects

      • 10 years of minimum construction experience in industrial/commercial construction projects of a discipline other than electrical, with 5 of those years as a supervisor of others on the project.

    • Applicant must be familiar with and able to effectively use Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Power Point as a minimum).

    • Preference will be given to applicants who are familiar with and have used or can demonstrate proficiency in the following software/programs:

      • Estimation (formally by Maxwell Systems, now Viewpoint Construction Software)

    Estimator/Trainee

    • Bachelor of Science Degree from Accredited University in a field relating to Construction Management, Construction Sciences, Engineering, or other related degrees may be submitted.

      • Cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or better

      • Must have documentable and strong math background with 3.0 or better grades in math classes

    • Must be able to demonstrate experience through one (Minimum) or more (Two are preferred) of the following:

      • 2 years work of experience, preferably in a construction related field.

      • 1 year of construction related experience, preferably electrical but will consider all disciplines.

      • 10 years of experience as an electrician, with a minimum of 3 of those years as a field project supervisor.

      • 1-3 years of work experience in a directly relatable field showing the ability to learn difficult concepts, grasp them and apply them in the work place. (If you choose this route for documenting experience, you should be precise on your resume as to the type of work done and the concepts that had to be learned and applied.) (Example: Intern with a construction company during college. Learned to process submittals and payment applications…)

    • Applicant must be familiar with and able to effectively use Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Power Point as a minimum).

    Accountant

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting from an Accredited University minimum. Must exhibit strong math skills and 3.0 or better grades in all accounting courses taken. Preference will be given to GPA’s of 3.5 or higher with a BS in Accounting.

    • Preference will be given to applicants who have taken and passed the CPA exam and have earned the right to the title of CPA.

    • Must have a minimum 3 years of documentable employment experience working as an accountant or CPA.

    • Must show a minimum of one of the following:

      • One year in a supervisory or management role in an accounting department or firm.

      • Two years in a supervisory or management role of a minimum of three or more employees in a non accounting related department or firm

    • Must be able to demonstrate strong skills in all of the following areas:

      • Microsoft EXCEL

      • Experience with specialty accounting software with a preference in any of the following:

        • Viewpoint Accounting and Project Management Software

        • Quantum Billing Software

        • Applicant must be familiar with and able to effectively use Microsoft Office platform products.

    • Preference will be given to applicants that can document experience with and the use of Viewpoint Accounting Software.

  • Assistant Staff Accountant

    Assistant Staff Accountant:

    • Minimum of a two year Associate’s Degree in accounting from a Community College and/or Accredited University. Must exhibit strong math skills and 3.0 or better grades in all accounting courses taken.

    • Must have a minimum 2 years of documentable experience working in an department in one of the following disciplines:

      • Payroll

      • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable

      • Billing

    • Preference will be given to those who can document any of the following:

      • Supervisory experience where applicant can demonstrate a minimum of one continuous year (or more) of documentable experience in managing at least three other employees

      • Currently enrolled in and/or have been enrolled in upgrade accounting skills through taking additional college courses in the pursuit of a four year Bachelor of Science accounting degree from an accredited four year College or University.

      • Specialty seminars or previous work training that is directly relatable and would serve as an upgrade to the skills of the employee past the minimum requirements.

    • Must be able to demonstrate strong skills in all of the following areas:

      • Microsoft EXCEL

      • Microsoft Word

      • Microsoft Power Point

    • Hiring preference will be given to those with a documentable knowledge and experience with VIEWPOINT Construction and Accounting Software. Depending on the number of years of documentable experience with Viewpoint, College and work experience may be waived for documented experience with Viewpoint software.

  • Purchasing-Warehouse/Logistical Manager

    Purchasing-Warehouse/Logistical Manager

    • Minimum of Two year Associates Degree in Business or related field from an accredited Community College or institution.

      • Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor of Science degree in business or construction related degree program.

    • Must have a minimum of at least two of the following to demonstrate experience:

      • Minimum of four years documentable experience as a purchasing manager

      • Minimum of two years experience in vehicle fleet management

      • Must have been responsible for taking inventory for a retail or wholesale company and documenting same using computer tracking inventory software.

      • Minimum of two years experience with construction related projects and proficient in the generally used materials for the electrical construction industry

      • Minimum of two years experience working in an electrical supply house.

      • Minimum of two years experience working in an ongoing warehouse, shipping and receiving operation

    • Preference will be given to applicants who can document any of the following:

      • A minimum of three years as a Manager of a warehousing operation, that involved the ordering of, receiving of, and shipping of materials on a daily basis.

      • Persons who can document experience with vehicle tracking, vehicle maintenance programs, equipment servicing, management of the repair and maintenance of equipment and non-human resources of all types.

      • Documentable experience of at least one year in the active use of Viewpoint Construction Software.

    • Applicant must possess and be able to demonstrate the proficiency and use of the following Microsoft Office programs:

      • Excel

      • Word

      • Outlook (to include Outlook Calendars)

    • Applicant must live within 60 miles of Meridian, MS and must have dependable transportation to and from work.

Field Positions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Truck Driver

    Truck Driver

    • Applicant must possess a clean driving record, with no DUI’s, DWI’s, reckless driving charges on their record in the last 10 years.

    • Applicant must possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class “A” and be willing to make day trips to jobsites, usually within 300 miles Meridian, MS

    • Applicant must be willing to remain overnight (in hotel provided by employer, with meal allowance) if needed to effect delivery or move equipment on jobsite.

    • Applicant must be physically able to load and unload equipment, bind the equipment down and off load equipment or materials at jobsites.

    • Applicant must be able to pass CDL physical as required as a condition of employment.

    • Preference will be given to applicants who:

      • Have had a CDL without any violations or tickets for the last three years

      • Applicants who have two years of more of documentable experience moving heavy equipment (track hoes, back hoes, 40’ CONEX container’s etc.)

      • Worked in a directly relatable position with a known or similar construction company.

    Warehouse Worker

    • Must have a high school diploma.

      • In lieu of a high school diploma, applicant may submit a G.E.D. (General Educational Development certification) with a minimum of four years work experience in a relatable type job since obtaining the G.E.D.

    • Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate the following:

      • Two or more years experience working in a warehousing type operation

      • Two or more years experience working in an electrical supply house

      • Experience, including training and certification in Forklift operation

      • Commercial Driver’s License Type “A” with a clean driving record for a minimum of three years

      • Two or more years experience in the electrical construction industry where applicant can demonstrate knowledge of equipment and materials used in the electrical trade.

    • Applicant must be able to:

      • Physically able to perform the work of this position to include:

        • Lifting items up to 75lbs without assistance

        • Climb ladders

        • Operate a fork lift safely

        • Place and retrieve items from shelves

        • See normally, with corrective lenses, items on shelves and recognize them and be able to discern them to the point where they can be removed, counted and packaged for distribution to job sites

    Construction Electrician

    • Applicant must possess as a minimum one of the following: (Two of the following are preferred for applicants with a high school degree and two of the following are required of applicants with GED’s)

      • High School Diploma with a minimum of one year in high school math of Algebra or above.

      • G.E.D. certificate

      • Graduation from a Two Year course in Electricity from a Community College (For the express purpose of formally training the student as an electrician)

      • A minimum of one year of formal apprenticeship training that is documentable. This training could be from the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) or the ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors).

      • A license stating that the applicant has taken a prescribed course of study and passed a written examination certifying the applicant as an Electrician. The certifying authority must be a State or Local authority having an appropriately setup inspection department who regularly issues journeyman licensing certificates.

    • Applicant must be able to demonstrate one the following work experience:

      • Five years of continuous work experience with an Electrical Contractor(s) doing Industrial or Commercial electrical projects.

      • Five years of continuous work experience divided up between:

        • Electrical construction of Industrial or Commercial type projects

        • Electrical Maintenance in plants using motors, lighting and other systems found in construction.

    • Applicant must be able to document experience with a minimum of (5) Five of the following types of materials or proficiently use any of the following pieces of construction equipment: (Check all that apply):

      • PVC

      • GRC/IMC

      • EMT

      • 600 volt conductor installation and termination

      • Switchgear to include Motor Control Centers & Panel boards

      • Medium voltage (600 to 15KV) cable installation and terminations

      • Lighting controls (to include Passive Infrared Sensors and LED dimming systems)

      • Backhoe or Track hoe

      • Mini Excavator

      • Trencher

      • Bucket Truck (Requires type “A” CDL to claim this experience)

      • Line Truck (Requires a type “A” CDL to claim this experience)

    • Preference will be given to applicants who have a minimum of one year’s experience in any of the following specialty types of work.

      • Airport, medium voltage, 5KV series lighting installation to include installation of airport navigation systems

      • Traffic Signal installation to include experience with ITS (Intelligent Traffic Signal equipment such as camera’s or weigh-in-motion systems)

      • Interstate and roadway lighting systems to include high mast and low mast lighting systems.

    • Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate the following ratings or experience:

      • Possesses a Class “A” CDL and has experience using a Line Truck or Bucket Truck.

      • Has a minimum of three years of documentable experience using heavy equipment such as Backhoes, Track hoes, or Mini-Excavators
